Archive | Internet Magazine Articles 1995 - 1996

I've uploaded a whole bunch of articles and cover scans from my magazine work in the mid-1990s. It includes articles about The Shamen, William Latham, Virtual Reality, art on the net, mobile Internet, education and more. In most cases these topics are still things I've remained interested and it's fun to see just how far things have come on over the years - or not in some cases.

You can find the scans at:

Archive | Fragments of Identity

I found a copy of a Web site for a collaborative project I did in 2003 as part of 'Year of the Artist'. 'Fragments of Identity' can be found at www.cuttlefish.com/fragments. Pictures from the installation are on my Flickr page.

Archive | Zion Train's WobblyWeb

In the late 1990s I created a Web site for dub band Zion Train who were on China Records. "WobblyWeb" was filled with links to informative and bizarre sites selected by the band together with odd facts and general strangeness. Cuttlefish Multimedia still runs WobblyWeb for the current band - although it is now much more focused on dub music! The screen-grabs on this page were recovered from the archive.org "waybackmachine".

Archive | Nemeton 1994 - 1999

After a lucky find on an old hard disk I have been able to re-upload a complete version of Nemeton - The Shamen's Web site. I've given the site a bit of a tidy in order to remove broken links, but it is pretty much as it was when The Shamen split in 1999.

Archive | Flow 2000

'Flow' was and installation by Geoff Groadway and Sean Clark which took place at the Q Gallery in Derby in 2000. It explored elements of personal change and transformation through a continued interest in the creative possibilities of the oral-history document and experimental moving image and sound techniques. A record of the installation is now available.

Archive | Birmingham Frequencies 1997

I've found a copy of the Web site that I did to support the 'Birmingham Frequencies' CD-ROM that came with the Higher Intelligence Agency / Biosphere album of the same name. To quote the introduction text:

"Birmingham frequencies is a record of an event which took place in Oct '97, within the sublime circular rhythms of Birmingham's modern architectural classic - The Rotunda. the second best loved structure in Birmingham after King Kong."

It was a great event to be involved in and I still think the music and multimedia work stands up to this day.

Archive | Persistence of Vision 2002

One more piece of work from the dusty hard-drive of my old iMac. 'Persistence of Vision' was an exhibition I did about Victorian optical toys. On the Web site there is an interactive version of a Phenakistiscope.

Archive | Hawkwind @ The Sanctuary 2002

While scanning through my old iMac I came across loads of pictures from some of my previous creative activities.

I'm going to progressively upload them to my Flickr account, starting with this set of Hawkwind pictures taken at a show Zion Train did in support of them at the Sanctuary in Birmingham in 2002. I was supplying visuals for ZT on the night. So, if you fancy a ride on the 'Silver Machine' then visit this gallery...

My overriding memory of the band was how 'Spinal Tap' they were back-stage. Arguments, groupies, drink etc. True rock-and-roll stars.
