Calico Interactive Ltd / Cuttlefish Multimedia Ltd / Cuttlefish Digital Arts (2007 - 2008)
At the start of 2007 Cuttlefish Multimedia went in to partnership with Channel 2020 to form Calico Interactive Ltd. The idea of the collaboration was to combine Channel 2020's video expertise with Cuttlefish's web skills. This led to some interesting new projects, such as Leicester.TV and ClickOnGolf.TV, but ultimately the partnership did not prove to be fruitful and Cuttlefish had returned to trading as Cuttlefish Multimedia Ltd by the summer of 2008.
2007
With the pressures of a new business, as well as being mid-way through my MA, I did not expect to take on a great deal of additional arts work during 2007. I did, however, produce a laser installation for the Shambala Festival in the summer. I also ran video projections at Summer Sundae festival, obtained Arts Council funding for the Summer Sundae Fringe Festival, produced a new video for The Buoys track 'Balance' and showed a 2D piece at the Leicester 'Artober' exhibition. I also attended some good events in 2007, including All Tomorrows Parties, Faster Than Sound, Supersonic and The Feeding of the 5000. Pictures can be found on my Flickr page. Towards the end of the year I exhibited 'I See You' at Trampoline in Nottingham, this was the first piece of work developed specifically from research undertaken during my MA. In 2007 I also finished a house renovation in Bulgaria that I had started in 2005 (a process fairly well documented on my Flickr page). The house proved be be a very useful place to go when I needed to spend time working on my MA, as well as providing a good base to visit nearby countries such as Romania and Turkey.
